I-4 Florida Mural Proposal
While visiting the city of Tampa, I was approached by a friend to take part in a proposal for a mural for interstate : 4 (I-4) a 132.298-mile (212.913 km) state Highway located entirely within the US state of Florida. The vision I had approaching the proposal was mainly a representation of historical characters. The main focus of the mural was to capture part of the history of Florida and the Tampa bay area through figures that represent change inside and outside the environment. The mural contains: a Calusa warrior, gold-hungry Conquistador, the legend of the pirate : Jose Gaspar, a florida panther, Vicente Martinez-Ybor, Hernando de Soto and Rough Rider: Theodore Roosevelt. The characters are connected to the growing strange metropolis. The Republican convention will be held in Tampa later this month. “Lions tigers and alligators? …ooh my..”
