A portrait of Emily Dickinson from a bonus commission. It was wonderful that someone requested the creation of Lady Dickinson in a steampunk fashion. I have always been captive by her devotion to words. She seem to just experiment, be dauntless with rhymes and play with words. Dickinson kept many poems hidden, sending some to friends and only 10 poems from about 2000 poems are known to have been published in her active poetic years. Well here she is with a steampunk look, with her many keys, robotic robin, the dun bat necklace and the cricket is her utmost.
Of elegy to me!
~Great talent, the mighty lead man from Soundgarden and AudioSlave is gone and here are my thoughts:
Most people in the world or American poor neighborhoods don’t have access to Psychotropic Drugs, but Rock Stars with success like: Prince, Elvis and Chris have plenty of money and access to all the new magical pills to help balance your mood, make the seconds happier and eventually kill the artist. We know more about black holes than the human brain. I feel like we are monkeys in labs making drugs to help you make sense of life, with no complete knowledge of the true science behind the chemical potions we induce to be simply, happy. Drugs do not cure drugs or bring Santa early. Read the labels on everything and you might find the omnipotent side effects any pharmaceutical drug contains, it is written: why is anyone surprised?
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince the world he didn’t exist.
It is all right in front of you!
Ideas for The New Year
“Hold an umbrella in one hand and a surprise in the other!”
Find a new book, make some terrible art work. Get lost in a new city. Explore good magic and keep learning new skills! Write a poem, bake some cookies for a friend. Make a treasure map, and if you find a new key in the clue, make a copy!
Perhaps the most important of all, sing your favorite song, loud and clear and don’t worry so much about the harmony!
Put some shade and color in your day.
Who cares what they say: Make some art!
What is light and what is shadow?
The piece below was influenced by a tax increase that pushed Japan’s economy into a recession.
Spooky! Been soundlessly working with sculpture.
Empires rise and empires fall

~Keep the fire and sharpen your spear.
Poem for Sunday Shake
I had painted in October, inside the tune of the day
Was lured by autumn’s crisp ink
Central to the song you came, internal colors
Titian, untitled and cool.
Shake it off, shake it off.
~Fools are poets with invisible wings and colorful brushes.
Audrey came from the clouds:
She played on the golden
She did not know I slept
She kept vanilla pockets!
And smiled through breakfast.
From her hand a sword:
From the print a star
From the dark a wink
That light, that magic!
She left for the holiday.
~The Best thing when you are near the water is to sketch.
Strange Love, indeed.
While in Kyoto I made a piece or artwork titled: The Lady and the Wormhole.
The gardens in the city set a mood of serenity and quiet embrace. I was working on a short story about a woman who could travel through space using her garden as the vehicle. I had a dream about her wearing a blue kimono using the small magical landscape to travel through time. In Japan the landscape is part of the history of the town or the prefecture. The Shinto religion is ancient in the country and it holds trees, springs and mountains to be places of spiritual power. It would seem any of the gardens I visited would have the possibility for intergalactic transformation, well at least in my imagination.
The Ocean was dreaming and remembered the drawing.
~She is an android with a backpack full of friends.
Ella es como un robot!
Music creates stars inside the spaces.
Halloween inside Christmas.
(That’s exactly what I mean!)
~Illustration for a new project I’m working on.
(Watercolor and Ink)
I can shoulder it my self, thy trust in the stars.
A walking book of spells, dragon holds the key, the night’s structure,
Silence has crossed.
Thee with the sight, you look quite a vision.
You wanted it too.
I will get the music started.
If you came for an explanation?
Maybe I am some kind of freak.
Ocean, flash, dream:

~Winter is naked, winter is solemn and winter is here.
The Artist On
scraps of glitter
unedited and unwaivering
on all shades
flew on his hands
and for the mouth harp
The Loopticon arrives
ripples from stardust
and with circular screens
completed the color crescendo.
They all sat on echoes
in the dark
current of ancient logos
slap with approbation:
The lights please
and the set begins.
