A portrait of Emily Dickinson from a bonus commission. It was wonderful that someone requested the creation of Lady Dickinson in a steampunk fashion. I have always been captive by her devotion to words. She seem to just experiment, be dauntless with rhymes and play with words. Dickinson kept many poems hidden, sending some to friends and only 10 poems from about 2000 poems are known to have been published in her active poetic years. Well here she is with a steampunk look, with her many keys, robotic robin, the dun bat necklace and the cricket is her utmost.
Of elegy to me!
~Great talent, the mighty lead man from Soundgarden and AudioSlave is gone and here are my thoughts:
Most people in the world or American poor neighborhoods don’t have access to Psychotropic Drugs, but Rock Stars with success like: Prince, Elvis and Chris have plenty of money and access to all the new magical pills to help balance your mood, make the seconds happier and eventually kill the artist. We know more about black holes than the human brain. I feel like we are monkeys in labs making drugs to help you make sense of life, with no complete knowledge of the true science behind the chemical potions we induce to be simply, happy. Drugs do not cure drugs or bring Santa early. Read the labels on everything and you might find the omnipotent side effects any pharmaceutical drug contains, it is written: why is anyone surprised?
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince the world he didn’t exist.
“Hold an umbrella in one hand and a surprise in the other!”
Find a new book, make some terrible art work. Get lost in a new city. Explore good magic and keep learning new skills! Write a poem, bake some cookies for a friend. Make a treasure map, and if you find a new key in the clue, make a copy!
Perhaps the most important of all, sing your favorite song, loud and clear and don’t worry so much about the harmony!
What am I doing this month?
I am slowly working on being a bit more clever about counting my time as an artistic entrepreneur. Specially if you travel every few months.
Remember social media and marketing take away from the creative act. Focus on the work and hopefully everything else will start coming together. So keep playing music, writing, drawing and stay creative.
While in Kyoto I made a piece or artwork titled: The Lady and the Wormhole. The gardens in the city set a mood of serenity and quiet embrace. I was working on a short story about a woman who could travel through space using her garden as the vehicle. I had a dream about her wearing a blue kimono using the small magical landscape to travel through time. In Japan the landscape is part of the history of the town or the prefecture. The Shinto religion is ancient in the country and it holds trees, springs and mountains to be places of spiritual power. It would seem any of the gardens I visited would have the possibility for intergalactic transformation, well at least in my imagination.
The simple concept of the Kyoto X Gang is that under a new cloud of radiation there is an increasing anti-mutant Movement. The Batter-Bunny decides to train three young mutants to use their powers for the benefit of Japan, and to prove mutants can be good. Batter-Bunny recruited Yuta Bowie, Nana Nene and Mizu Girl.
My version of Elaine of Carbonek. A wise woman and creature of intrigue.
She is a character with animalistic attraction and secreted intentions of pursuit.
She revealed the Holy Grail to Lancelot and became the mother Sir Galahad,
“The noblest of knights”
An Intergalactic ocean explorer, one who lives for an enhanced cycle of time in a submerged territory. Any person who prevails beneath water, resisting the ambient pressure and compression while using a suit and breathing apparatus.
