Composer Michael Giacchino and the National Symphony Orchestra at Wolf Trap were amazing: performing an enigmatic score from Star Trek: Into Darkness live! The discussion before the show was informative and wonderful, all about Star Trek’s influence on the NASA culture, Vulcan misfits, and the space race.

Between all Star Trek realms, we see the same consistency for space fashion, travel design, future exploration, and universal wonder.

The Ocean Wormhole

A wormhole is a hole through space. A bridge through space-time and a way to fold the known universe. If we traveled through a wormhole we could come in contact with different variations of matter, perhaps even elements from our world with exotic properties all together, but remember: wormholes are conjured up only on paper, sci-fi movies and by current scientific theory.

One problem is how large would a wormhole be? and where could one find a wormhole? Some say they exist in microscopic form, some say perhaps a black hole could hold the answer. Size might be important, but I believe even if we find or create a hole through the universe, the technology we have now could not prepare our ship, vessel or craft for transport through its gravitational field.

Another problem would be the rapture of the tunnel, how long would it stay open? The Einstein-Rosen wormhole might break very quickly, but some say if the wormhole contained “exotic” matter, it could stay open for a planned amount of time. In theory the craft would have to have part of the same exotic matter in its engine or fabric. In Quantum theory if we did find a wormhole, learn to open one or become one with its fabric, we could probably time travel and I could do more research on the topic. Who knows if we did find a wormhole it could include part of an exotic liquid like ocean within its conductor, why not?

Forestall

The Three Methods to Forestall the Enemy

The first is to forestall him by attacking. This is called Ken No Sen.

(To set him up)

Another method is to forestall him as he attacks. This is called Tai No Sen.

(To wait for the initiative)

The other method is when you and the enemy attack together. This is called Tai Tai No Sen.

(To accompany him and forestall him)

There are no methods of taking the lead other than these three. Because you can win quickly by taking the lead, it is one of the most important things in strategy. There are several things involved in taking the lead. You must make the best of the situation, see through the enemy’s spirit so that you grasp his strategy and defeat him.
